Keeping showings safe is on everyone’s mind. Man oh Man, this Covid19 Virus has everyone scared. But, the risk to you and your family is really quite low if you follow a few easy things. First of all, don’t be home during the showing, this will limit your exposure to airborne particles that potential sick people may expel into the air. Second, put a bottle of hand sanitizer near the door where the entrance is. Place a neat sign that clearly says, “Please use sanitizer before entry” . Put a small table near the entrance to hold the sanitizer so it is easy to use. Third, leave the doors open to all rooms and lights on. Then people won’t need to touch the door knobs or light switches. Finally, when you return after the showing, take a few minutes to wipe down hard surfaces that people may have touched ( Door knobs, faucet handles etc.). Keeping showings safe if buyers not with agent
Most Realtors should know how to deal with Buyers that are exhibiting symptoms. They shouldn’t take them out for showings. So, if your working with a Buyer that is not represented. Do the same thing. Ask them if they are feeling ok prior to the showing. If they say they are sick or are displaying symptoms ask them to wait a week before they come back. Still do all the things I mention above but also keep your distance and don’t shake hands. If you follow these simple things you will limit your chance of exposure. If you are a high risk category. COnsider only allowing showing by agents or buyers represented by agents. Don’t meet with them yourself, or have a friend do the showing who isn’t high risk.
